Delta IV Rocket Blasts Off Successfully At 8:27 p.m.
A United Launch Alliance Delta IV successfully blasted off tonight between at 8:27 p.m. from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station.
This WGS-5 mission marks the 22nd Delta IV launch and the third launch of the Delta IV Medium+ (5,4) launch vehicle configuration.
This WGS mission is the fifth installment of the Wideband Global SATCOM (WGS) system. The WGS satellites are an important element of a new highcapacity satellite communications system providing enhanced communications capabilities to our troops in the field for the next decade and beyond.
